Who is Carol Dickson-Carr?

The Relevant Scoop:
Hi there! I make money using my creativity and help others do the same. I’m a bit of an eccentric and an energetic renaissance spirit who actually fell into the audio production business for coaches, writers, and public speakers by accident in the midst of building my coaching business.
My “productivity coaching for the entrepreneurial spirit” journey started in 2003, but I’ve been a musician forever, it seems (since I was nine months old according to my mom who claimed I hummed a recognizable tune at that age!). And the computer element of music composition has been a very therapeutic hobby for me since 2001. It’s a really fun hobby that I could get lost in if I wasn’t careful…
I had a good time creating and producing my first interview audio series using a virtual recording service. However, I didn’t really make the connection until I participated in and produced a panel discussion on creativity later that year (me and four other life/business coaches) and recorded it with my own mixing software this time around. I had a lot of fun using my own compositions as intros and outros, adding voiceovers, and so on. Then the word got around. I didn’t even advertise.
I’ve also been writing since I was very young—creatively, and in more recent years, non-fiction in the self-help genre. Next thing I knew, I’ve combined my music composition hobby, my audio production skills, my coaching skills, and my content creation skills into a package that people want!
The 'Not Quite as Relevant' Scoop (In case you’re curious!):
I am co-author of A Guide to Getting It: Purpose & Passion and creator of the "Master Your Time and Live Your Dreams: Conversations with Creatives and Coaches Who Get It Done!" audio series. Since 1990, I’ve taught and trained individuals from age 17 to 65 to understand and implement many important life lessons. From California to Florida, four-year, community and business colleges alike, my goal has always been to have the students leave with practical skills they did not have before they took my courses.
The idea to teach and inspire non-traditionally through coaching, speaking engagements, and publishing was actually born in the 90s from my experiences as an instructor at Orange County Business College in Anaheim, California. One of the components I taught there addressed personal and professional development. It was particularly gratifying when I was able to reach those students who had no belief in themselves because of the environments they were subjected to while growing up.
A social scientist by training, I am no stranger to research, statistics, interpreting and analyzing economic data, and the human condition. I also served as an analyst for the Florida Legislature for five years,* and I have useful investing experience to share, particularly in the area of real estate investing.
*Though the committee I worked for dealt with numbers and the tax code, one colleague there referred to me fondly as the "committee shrink" because I thought it was important that we appreciate each other's quirks and differences better by understanding different temperaments and preferences. In fact, I convinced most of my coworkers from every job I had since I finished graduate school to take a personality instrument and allow me to give an overview of some of the theories and applications after they were shown their results!
